Overview

Your project’s editor (design file) is where you’ll edit your iOS and iPad prototypes. Each project has a different editor which will open when a project or draft is opened from the lobby. In the editor youll find:
  • Pages: View all pages in your current project. Each page in a project is a separate view that can connect.
  • Components: View all components in your project’s design system.
  • Design Mode: Build your design’s layout using elements, native controls, components, and more.
  • Interaction Mode: Prototype interactions with triggers, actions, prefabs, helpers, and expressions.

The four buttons in the bottom center of the editor let you switch between the Pages (keyboard shortcut 1), Components (2), Design Mode (3), and Interaction Mode (4).

Pages

In the Page tab, click the empty page with a plus icon or use the keyboard shortcut CMD + N to create a new page. You’ll automatically be taken to the newly created page and a new tab will be added to the top tab bar. You can change the device’s orientation between Portrait and Landscape.To enter an existing page, double-click to open it in Design Mode. Each page is surrounded by a freeform canvas where you can create components, test layouts, and more.To manage an existing page, right-click in the page to see options like name, share, duplicate, delete, open, and set to initial page.

Components

In the Components tab, you can double click on any component to enter the main component editor, which will make changes to all instances of the component. Yoou can also right-click to rename, duplicate, and delete components.Read more about components.

Design

Design Mode is where you’ll build your design’s layout using elements, native controls, components, and more. Read more about macOS Design Mode.

Interaction

Interaction Mode is where you’ll add interactions, made from triggers and actions, to your designs. Read more about macOS Interaction Mode.

Settings

The gear icon in the top left corner of your project opens your settings. From here, you can change the Editor’s UI Appearance and other settings.
